Breaking News!

We're desperate to start performing Musical Theatre in Chinnor again, so we've decided that we are going to try a new way to enjoy singing by holding singing workshops throughout the summer.  Starting on 24th May, we will be holding a Singalong workshop, on alternate Tuesdays, where we will learn 2 or 3 songs.  They will be of varying complexity, so don't worry if you can't read music, or have never sung in harmony - we will do our best to introduce you to both. Each week we'll introduce new songs and new genres.

Hopefully, at the end of these 'Singalongs', we'll pick up some music theory and help those who can't read music to at least understand the basics.  We'll also have a better idea of what kind of voice you have, and can place you in a show.  We will also introduce some acting and movement workshops so that hopefully, we'll be ready to start rehearsing in August for a show.  Bring it on...

men....jpg

Hey Guys - where are you? Amateur Musical Theatre companies always find it difficult to find men to appear on stage, yet you never find that in professional companies - why is that we wonder? Is it because you don't have confidence in your abilities?  No, it can't be that, we've had many male members that have been astonishingly good.  Is it because you don't think you'll fit in? Why not try it and see, what have you got to lose? Do you think you have to be a certain kind of person? It's not true, there are no rules  - gay, straight, non-binary, whoever you are, just be you, you'll be a welcome member. Afraid your mates will laugh at you - who cares what they think, be brave enough to ignore their comments.  Plus, men always get main roles because there are so few of you willing to take the plunge, whereas we women (and there are always more women than men) have to fight for roles!  However big a part you want to play in our society, we have a place for you. We also like to have a lot of fun, and we wouldn't like you to miss out.

So don't be shy, give it a try!

We Need YOU!

Every successful show requires as many people off stage as well as on it.  Imagine a company full of people who just wanted to perform - they'd be on a dark stage and wouldn't be able to be heard.

As well as performers we need people who are willing to be the backbone of the Society - Costumes and Wardrobe, Make-up enthusiasts, Lighting advisors, Raffle co-ordinators, Website management, Social Media experts, Fundraisers, Sound technicians, Directors, Writers, Musicians, Builders, Painters, etc.  You name it, we need it!  We also need committed members who are willing to join us on the committee as due to unforeseen circumstances, we have recently lost some of our stalwarts. You don't need to be an expert, just have an enthusiasm to help and learn, so, if you think you can help us, please contact us

Christmas is Coming...

What do you mean, it's still summer? When you're planning to put on a show in December you have to start thinking about these things in plenty of time. So we've been planning this for several months already. We'll all be sick of Christmas songs by the time we're ready to perform, but practice makes perfect, so we're starting rehearsals in August.  If you fancy being in this Festive Extravaganza, drop us a line.  We'll be updating this space in the coming weeks, so register your interest ASAP. If you're an alto or a male tenor we'd especially like to hear from you, but all voice types are welcome. This is the kind of show made for people of all levels, so don't be afraid if you've never trod the boards before - as long as you know a few Christmas carols you'll be fine!
